"Main Street Housing has excelled because it bases its policies on tenants’ rights rather than programmatic compliance, and an unwavering belief that a stable living environment is the single most important foundation from which to build a successful, healthy, and full life in the community."
National Council for Behavioral Health, 2013 Reintegration Award: Housing (emphasis added)
We are so proud of the positive impact the “Main Street Model” of housing development has had for individuals, families and communities across Maryland. Our success is due in large part to the dedication and commitment of our tenants, who set a shining example to the mental health community and the community at large of the real recovery that persons with mental health issues achieve. Similarly, we could not develop quality, affordable, independent housing without the robust support of a wide variety of community organizations and state administrations, for which we are truly thankful.
